A strange disappearance involving two married women and four children has left families and investigators searching for answers in Haryana. The two women, who were reportedly childhood friends, allegedly left their respective homes with their children. Families have also claimed that jewellery and cash worth around ₹9 lakh were missing.
The case took an unexpected turn after WhatsApp conversations between the two women reportedly surfaced. Their alleged messages contained affectionate references, prompting their husbands to suspect that the two had developed a romantic relationship.
However, police have not confirmed the nature of their relationship or the claim that they allegedly married each other. Investigators are focusing on locating the women and children first, after which their statements are expected to provide greater clarity.
One Disappearance Led to Another
According to reports, one of the women, identified as Manju, is from Ballabhgarh. She married Sunny, a resident of Palwal, in 2020. The couple has two children.
Manju reportedly left her home on August 21 with her four-year-old son and two-year-old daughter. Her family later alleged that jewellery worth approximately ₹4 lakh was also missing.
While trying to trace her whereabouts, relatives reportedly discovered that her childhood friend Reena was missing as well.
Reena had also married in 2020. Her husband, Vedpal, is reportedly from the Pataudi area of Gurugram. She is said to have left home with her four-year-old daughter and one-and-a-half-year-old son.
Her family reportedly noticed that jewellery and cash valued at around ₹5 lakh were also missing.
With both women gone, the families were left trying to understand whether the two disappearances were connected.
WhatsApp Messages Raise Questions
Manju and Reena reportedly knew each other since childhood and had studied together until Class 12. Their families were therefore familiar with their friendship and apparently did not initially find their frequent communication unusual.
The situation changed after the women disappeared together with their children.
According to claims made by their husbands, WhatsApp conversations between the two contained highly affectionate messages. The women allegedly used terms such as “my love”, “my cute wife” and “babu” while communicating with each other.
The messages have since become an important part of the allegations surrounding the case.
The husbands reportedly believe that the conversations point to a relationship that had continued for around one-and-a-half years. However, the messages alone do not establish the exact nature of their relationship, and investigators have yet to publicly confirm the allegations.
Claim of an Alleged Marriage
The case became even more unusual when the husbands reportedly claimed that the two women had married each other.
