Mahadev Betting App Case: CBI Arrests Abhishek Kumar at Hyderabad Airport

The Mahadev Betting App Case has taken a fresh turn after the CBI arrested Abhishek Kumar at Hyderabad airport. Kumar arrived from Dubai before the arrest. The CBI has identified him as one of the key accused in the case.

According to the CBI, Kumar played an active role in coordinating betting panels and collecting funds. The agency also alleges that he acquired properties in Dubai using money linked to the illegal betting operations. Officials said investigators seized material from him after his arrest.

The CBI also said Kumar worked closely with alleged main accused Saurabh Chandrakar and Shubham Soni. A Hyderabad court granted three days of transit remand. He was later taken to Raipur, where a court granted two days of police custody.

7 Red Corner Notices Issued

The CBI took over 13 FIRs related to the Mahadev Betting App from Chhattisgarh. So far, the agency has filed eight chargesheets against 100 accused. The accused include alleged promoters, betting-panel operators, hawala operators and government officials.

The agency has also sent seven Red Corner Notices and two extradition proposals. Extradition proceedings against two accused are currently underway. The CBI said it is continuing its investigation to trace other absconding accused and bring the main promoters back to India.
