Sikkim Landslide: 35 Houses Damaged in Rimbi After Heavy Rain

A major Sikkim landslide hit Rimbi village in West Sikkim after heavy rainfall. At least 35 houses and government quarters were damaged in the landslide. Several families have been moved to safer locations.

Sikkim Landslide Damages Houses

The landslide struck the Yuksom-Tashiding area of Gyalshing district. Mud, rocks and debris moved towards residential areas. Several houses were damaged, while some structures collapsed or tilted. Government buildings were also affected.

Families Evacuated From Rimbi

Authorities have shifted more than two dozen families to safer locations. The area has also witnessed repeated mudslides in recent weeks. Officials are monitoring the situation as heavy rain continues.

No Casualties Reported

No deaths have been reported so far. Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has directed officials to remain alert. Authorities are also watching for further landslides and road disruptions.
