The Mahindra Thar OG is trending across India after its launch on September 22, 2026. More than 2 lakh searches for “Thar OG” have been recorded on Google. Search interest has also risen sharply. Many users are looking for the new SUV’s price, variants and on-road cost.
Mahindra Thar OG Price and Booking
The new Thar OG starts at ₹10.32 lakh ex-showroom. The top variant is priced at ₹18.99 lakh ex-showroom. Mahindra offers the SUV in AXT, LXT and ZXT variants. Buyers can also choose between petrol and diesel engines.
Bookings are now open across India. Customers can book the SUV online or through authorised Mahindra dealerships. The booking amount is ₹21,000. Mahindra has also announced introductory prices for deliveries made up to November 30, 2026.
Thar OG Gets New Features
The new Thar OG comes with several updates. Mahindra has introduced a new M_Glyde 4G platform. The SUV also gets PENTALINK suspension and DAVINCI damping technology. These changes are aimed at improving both road comfort and off-road performance.
The SUV also gets terrain modes and an electronic locking differential. Safety features include six airbags, front parking sensors and all-wheel disc brakes on applicable variants. The feature list varies according to the selected variant.
Engine Options and Delivery Date
The Thar OG is available with three engine options. These include a 1.5-litre diesel, a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Depending on the variant, buyers can choose a manual or automatic transmission. The SUV is also available with 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains.
Mahindra has announced that deliveries will begin on October 11, 2026. The combination of a familiar Thar design, updated technology and new features has pushed the SUV into the spotlight. Its sharp rise in online searches has also made the Thar OG one of the major auto trends in India.
