Six-year-old Aditya Kumar, who recently drew attention during a student protest in Bihar, has begun a sit-in at Gardanibagh in Patna. The child is demanding justice for his parents and has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention over alleged police excesses.
Aditya Kumar Demands Justice for Parents
Aditya had joined a protest led by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants on August 25. The protesters had raised several recruitment-related demands, including a single-stage examination for TRE-4.
Aditya later alleged that police separated him from his parents for several hours. He also claimed that his parents were assaulted while they were at the police station.
Police, however, earlier denied that the child had been detained. According to police, Aditya was taken to a police station for his own safety amid the tense situation and was later handed over to his mother.
The allegations of assault made by the family have not been independently established.
Seeks Meeting With Prime Minister
During his latest protest, Aditya said he wants Prime Minister Narendra Modi to meet him and hear his grievances. He indicated that he would continue his sit-in until his concerns were addressed.
Before starting the protest, the child also said he had submitted a letter to Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar seeking a judicial inquiry into the alleged police action.
The Aditya Kumar case has gained attention after videos of the six-year-old speaking during the BPSC aspirants’ protest circulated widely on social media.
For now, the family continues to demand an inquiry, while the allegations against the police remain disputed.
