Noida Woman Raises Privacy Questions After Rapido Delivery Partner Allegedly Sends ‘I Love You’

A parcel delivery that should have ended once the package reached its destination has allegedly continued into a deeply uncomfortable interaction for a woman in Noida. A Rapido delivery partner has been accused of sending her personal messages after completing a delivery, including an unsolicited “I love you” text.

The woman, identified as Geetika Srivastava, brought the matter to social media after sharing screenshots of the alleged conversation on LinkedIn. Her post has since sparked a wider discussion around customer privacy, personal boundaries and the responsibility of app-based service companies to monitor the conduct of delivery partners.

From a Delivery Message to an Unwanted Conversation

According to Srivastava, the interaction began after she used Rapido’s parcel delivery service. The delivery partner allegedly contacted her with a simple greeting and asked how she was.

The conversation then took an unexpected turn when he allegedly sent her an “I love you” message.

For Srivastava, the message was not a harmless exchange. She made it clear that she did not want further communication and warned the delivery partner against calling or messaging her again.

She also told him that she would approach the police if he continued contacting her.

Instead of backing away, the rider allegedly responded in a manner that further angered and concerned her. According to the screenshots she posted, he essentially told her to go ahead and complain to Rapido.

That response became one of the main reasons she decided to publicly raise the issue.

Why the Woman Questioned the Rider’s Confidence

The incident, as described by Srivastava, was not only about an unwanted personal message.

She questioned how a delivery partner obtained access to her contact details and why he appeared so confident even after being warned about a possible complaint.

In her LinkedIn post, she raised concerns about the kind of safety checks and monitoring mechanisms used by companies that connect customers with delivery workers.

Her concern was straightforward: customers share their information with a platform to receive a service. They should not have to worry about that information being used for personal communication after the service is over.

The question becomes even more serious when the recipient has clearly expressed that the contact is unwanted.

Social Media Turns the Incident Into a Bigger Debate

Once the screenshots were posted online, the matter quickly attracted attention.

Several social media users discussed the larger issue of safety in app-based services. Some argued that companies cannot limit their responsibility to completing a ride or delivery. They also need to ensure that customers feel secure before, during and after the service.

Others questioned whether an apology from a company is enough when a delivery partner is accused of crossing professional boundaries.

The incident has also revived concerns around the accessibility of customer information. In an increasingly app-driven economy, users routinely provide phone numbers, addresses and other details while booking everyday services.

That makes privacy protection an important part of customer safety.

Rapido Responds

Rapido responded to Srivastava’s LinkedIn post and apologised for the experience she described.

The company said it understood her concerns regarding the reported behaviour of the delivery partner and stated that such matters are taken seriously. Rapido also said that customer safety, dignity and respect are priorities.

The company’s response came after the woman publicly tagged the platform and questioned the conduct of the delivery partner.

However, the response itself became part of the online discussion. Some users wanted to know what concrete action would follow the complaint rather than simply receiving an apology.

Reports published after the initial incident said the company sought booking details so that the matter could be examined further.

The Larger Concern Is Customer Trust

Cases like this can affect how people view app-based services.

For a customer, booking a parcel delivery is normally a simple transaction. The expectation is that the delivery partner will collect the package, complete the drop and move on to the next assignment.

An unsolicited personal approach changes that experience completely.

The bigger concern is therefore not just one message. It is whether customers can trust that the personal information they provide for a service will remain limited to that purpose.

Women using delivery, transport and other app-based services can be particularly conscious of such boundaries. An unwanted message may appear small to someone outside the situation, but the feeling of being contacted personally by a stranger who obtained one’s details through a service can be unsettling.

What This Incident Raises

The Noida episode has raised several questions for platforms operating large networks of delivery partners.

How are customer details protected? What happens when a worker allegedly uses those details for personal communication? How quickly are complaints investigated? And what action is taken when professional boundaries are allegedly crossed?

These questions matter because digital platforms increasingly sit between customers and workers. Trust in that system depends not only on convenience but also on accountability.

In this case, the allegations have been made by the woman herself, supported by screenshots of the reported exchange. The claims should therefore be viewed as allegations unless independently established.

For now, the incident has opened a much wider conversation: when a delivery ends, customer privacy and professional boundaries should not end with it.
