After the alleged attack, Natthumal reportedly went behind the house and jumped into a nearby well. Fire brigade personnel rescued him from the well. He was subsequently taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment, and reports said his condition was critical.
Police have started investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder and the events that led to the fatal argument. The case has also brought attention to the dangers of superstition when unfounded beliefs turn into violence.
