CJP Gives CEC Gyanesh Kumar 48 Hours to Resign

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has given Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar 48 hours to resign. The group has also threatened nationwide protests if its demand is not met. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke announced the ultimatum in New Delhi as the group launched its “Election Commission Thik Karo” campaign over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

CJP Raises Demands Over Voter List

CJP has demanded a halt to further SIR-related exclusions. The group also wants the January 2025 voter list restored until verification is completed. Another demand is a new law for appointing Election Commissioners. CJP has said it will intensify its campaign if the demands are not addressed.

Nationwide Protest Threat

The group has warned of protests across India if Gyanesh Kumar does not resign. It has also announced another protest in Delhi under the name “Jantar Mantar 2.0.” CJP has raised allegations about the SIR process, but these claims have not been independently established as facts. The Election Commission has disputed the group’s characterisation of the process and defended its decisions.
