Thai Woman Travels From Thailand to Find Husband, Discovers He Has Wife and 3 Children
A Thai woman travelled from Thailand to Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, to find the man she claimed to have married. However, her search reportedly ended in shock. She allegedly discovered that he already had a wife and three children.
The woman accused the man, identified in media reports as Mohammad Irfan, of taking around ₹60 lakh from her. Following her complaint, police arrested the accused. The case has attracted attention because of the alleged financial fraud and the claims surrounding their relationship.
Thai Woman Meets Kanpur Businessman Online
According to media reports, the woman, identified as Upsorn, met Irfan through social media around four years ago. Their friendship reportedly developed into a relationship. She claimed that they married in Thailand in 2025.
The woman reportedly runs a restaurant and a canteen in Thailand. She alleged that Irfan repeatedly asked her for money. According to her complaint, he cited business expenses and other financial needs.
Over time, she claimed, the amount reached approximately ₹60 lakh. She said she used her earnings and borrowed money from relatives and friends to support him.
Woman Discovers Husband Has Wife and Children
Later, Irfan reportedly returned to India and stopped responding to her calls and messages. As a result, the woman travelled to Kanpur to find him and recover her money.
However, she allegedly discovered that he already had a wife and three children. She claimed that he had concealed his existing family during their relationship.
The woman also accused Irfan and his family members of assaulting and threatening her when she confronted them. Furthermore, she alleged that they pressured her to convert her religion and wear a burqa.
These claims form part of the complaint. Police are investigating the allegations and examining the available evidence.
Police Investigate Alleged ₹60 Lakh Fraud
Kanpur police registered a case after receiving the woman’s complaint. They subsequently arrested Irfan and began examining the alleged financial transactions and marriage documents.
According to an Amar Ujala report published on October 9, the woman’s statement was recorded in court. She also reportedly submitted more than 90 WhatsApp chats and a call recording to the police.
The report further stated that the accused’s bail application was rejected. Meanwhile, investigators are examining the digital evidence as the case proceeds.
The incident has raised concerns about trust and financial dealings in online relationships. However, the allegations must be assessed through the legal process. The investigation will determine the facts of the case.
