Barapullah Phase 3 Opens: Delhi-Noida Travel Time to Drop to 15 Minutes

Barapullah Phase 3 has opened in Delhi, bringing a new elevated route for commuters travelling between East Delhi and South Delhi. The corridor connects Mayur Vihar Phase I with Sarai Kale Khan and is expected to improve connectivity for people travelling from Noida towards central and south Delhi.

The new route is expected to reduce travel time on key stretches. Officials have said that some journeys towards AIIMS could take around 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. The corridor also provides a signal-free route, which can help commuters avoid delays at busy intersections.

Barapullah Phase 3 reduces travel time

Barapullah Phase 3 is around 3.5 km long and connects with the existing Barapullah corridor. The expanded network is designed to provide smoother traffic movement between East Delhi, Central Delhi and South Delhi. Commuters travelling from Noida can also access the corridor through connected roads.

The signal-free route is expected to reduce pressure on several busy roads. However, the actual travel time will depend on the starting point, destination and traffic conditions. The 15-minute estimate therefore applies to specific journeys and should not be treated as the travel time for every Noida-Delhi trip.

Barapullah Phase 3 connects key routes

Barapullah Phase 3 includes a new bridge over the Yamuna and several loops for vehicles entering and leaving the elevated corridor. The project also includes facilities for pedestrians and cyclists. It connects with important routes around the DND Flyway, NH-24 and Ring Road, which are among Delhi’s major traffic corridors.

The project began in 2015 and faced several delays during construction. Its revised cost reached around ₹1,635 crore. With the opening of Phase 3, commuters now have another elevated route between East Delhi and South Delhi, which is expected to improve traffic movement in the area.
