Japanese Air Force Chief Carries IndiGo ‘Puke Bag’ During Tejas Flight, Photos Go Viral
A small detail in a photograph has caught the internet’s attention. Japan Air Self-Defense Force Chief General Takehiro Morita was seen carrying what appeared to be an IndiGo airsickness bag in his pocket.
The photograph was taken during the India-Japan air exercise Veer Guardian-2026 in Jodhpur. Soon after the images appeared online, social media users noticed the familiar blue-and-white bag. The unusual detail quickly became a talking point.
Japanese Air Force Chief Flies Tejas
General Takehiro Morita visited Air Force Station Jodhpur during the ongoing exercise. He also flew India’s indigenous Tejas fighter aircraft with Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh.
The flight was a major highlight of the exercise. Reports said General Morita became the first Asian air force chief to fly the Indian-made Tejas. The sortie also showcased growing air-force cooperation between India and Japan.
Why The IndiGo Bag Went Viral
The main event was a defence exercise. However, the small bag stole attention online. Users quickly identified it as what appeared to be an IndiGo airsickness bag.
The viral photographs do not show that General Morita actually used the bag because he felt sick. Instead, the attention came from its visible presence in his pocket. This detail turned an official defence photograph into a widely discussed social media moment.
What Is Veer Guardian 2026?
Veer Guardian-2026 is a bilateral air exercise between India and Japan. The current edition is being held at Jodhpur and runs from September 9 to September 22.
Indian and Japanese aircraft are taking part in the exercise. India has deployed Tejas, Su-30MKI and Rafale fighter aircraft. Japan has deployed F-2A fighter aircraft.
The exercise includes flying missions, mission planning and professional exchanges. It also focuses on operational coordination and aviation safety between the two air forces.
The IndiGo bag may have been only a small detail. Still, it has given the India-Japan exercise an unexpected viral moment online.
