India continued its campaign at the Asian Games 2026 India campaign in Aichi-Nagoya on September 21, with athletes competing across several sports. After opening the Games with two silver medals, India added more medals in shooting while also recording important wins in team events.
India Adds More Shooting Medals
Himanshu Dhillon won silver in the men’s 10m air rifle individual event, while Rudrankksh Patil claimed bronze. China’s Sheng Lihao took gold with 254.2 points. Dhillon finished with 252.4 points, while Patil ended with 230.9.
Earlier, Dhillon, Patil and Parth Mane had combined to win silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event.
This followed Elavenil Valarivan’s double-silver performance on the opening day. She had won silver in both the women’s 10m air rifle team and individual events.
India Beats Japan in Sepaktakraw
India also produced a strong result in men’s team regu sepak takraw. After trailing 5-10 in the opening set against Japan, India recovered to win 15-13.
The Indian team then controlled the second set and completed a 15-7 victory.
More Medal Opportunities Ahead
India’s schedule also featured MMA, hockey, kabaddi, table tennis, badminton, swimming, boxing and other events.
Suchika Tariyal entered the women’s traditional 60kg MMA semifinal after already securing at least a bronze medal. India’s women’s hockey team was also scheduled to face Indonesia after beginning its campaign with a 19-0 win over Uzbekistan.
The Asian Games 2026 India campaign therefore continues with multiple medal opportunities across shooting and other disciplines as the competition progresses.
