Smriti Mandhana produced a record-breaking performance as India defeated Hong Kong by 137 runs in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium. Mandhana smashed 124 off 64 balls, helping India post 193/5 before Hong Kong were bowled out for 56 in 16.2 overs. The victory also secured India’s place in the semifinals.
Mandhana Creates History With 124
After Hong Kong opted to field, Mandhana and Shafali Verma gave India a strong start with a 74-run opening partnership. Shafali scored 28 off 17 balls, while Mandhana continued to dominate the bowling attack.
Mandhana completed her century in 57 balls and eventually scored 124 from 64 deliveries, including 14 fours and seven sixes. She was run out in the final over after taking India close to the 200-run mark.
The innings also took Mandhana past former India captain Mithali Raj as the leading run-scorer in women’s international cricket. Mandhana now has 10,880 international runs, surpassing Raj’s tally of 10,868. It was also Mandhana’s 18th international century, another record in women’s cricket.
India Bowl Hong Kong Out for 56
Hong Kong struggled from the beginning while chasing 194. India’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings and eventually dismissed them for 56 in 16.2 overs.
Deepti Sharma led the attack with excellent figures of 3/9. Nandani Sharma took 2/6, Prema Rawat returned 2/12 and Sree Charani picked up 2/16.
The emphatic win confirmed India’s semifinal berth and continued their unbeaten start to the tournament. Mandhana was named Player of the Match for her historic 124-run innings
