Raut Says Hunger Strike Should Have Ended at Jantar Mantar
Reacting to Wangchuk’s decision, Sanjay Raut said ending the fast in the presence of two Union ministers sent the wrong message.
According to Raut, if Wangchuk had chosen to end his hunger strike, he should have done so at Jantar Mantar before the students who have continued protesting.
He said such a move would have strengthened the movement and honoured those who have remained on the streets throughout the campaign.
Criticises Government’s Handling of the Protest
Raut also accused the Central Government of using force against student protesters.
He alleged that police action during the demonstrations resulted in injuries to several participants and claimed the government made every effort to suppress the movement.
Referring to Wangchuk’s detention during the protest, Raut said he was removed from Jantar Mantar without proper medical arrangements.

‘Every Student Is a Leader’
Raut said the movement does not belong to a single individual.
Instead, he described it as a nationwide student campaign where “every child is a leader.”
He also cited CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who has maintained that the protest will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.
Raut said he agrees with Dipke’s position and claimed the government’s outreach reflects growing concern over the expanding movement.
