Introduction

A tragic Gurugram dumper accident at a construction site in Sector 113 has claimed the life of a 16-year-old helper. He was buried under gravel during a dumper unloading operation. Police have registered a case against the driver. CCTV footage from the site is expected to help with the investigation.

Teen Dies While Assisting Dumper Unloading

The Gurugram dumper accident happened in the early hours of July 3. A dumper truck had reached a construction site in Sector 113 to unload gravel.

Police said the victim, Priyanshu Maurya, was working as a helper on the vehicle. Before unloading started, the driver allegedly asked him to open the rear gate from behind. As the truck’s hydraulic system lifted the container, a large amount of gravel came out at once. Priyanshu reportedly lost his balance and was trapped under the falling material.

Driver Unaware of the Fatal Accident

According to the initial probe, the driver kept unloading the truck. He did not realize the helper had been buried under the gravel. Police believe the loud engine and unloading noise may have stopped him from hearing any cries for help. After unloading was over, the driver searched the area but could not find Priyanshu. This alarmed the workers. They then checked the CCTV cameras at the site. The footage reportedly showed the teenager being buried under the gravel just moments after unloading began.

Rescue Operation Failed to Save the Teenager

After seeing the CCTV footage, workers quickly started removing the gravel. Priyanshu was pulled out and rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors, however, declared him dead on arrival. Police said the victim was originally from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. His family now lives in Nainital district of Uttarakhand.

FIR Registered as Police Begin Investigation

After the tragedy, Priyanshu’s father filed a complaint against the driver. He accused him of negligence.

Based on the complaint, Gurugram Police registered an FIR and seized the dumper involved in the accident. Investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage, witness statements, and other evidence. They are checking whether safety rules were ignored during the unloading process. Officials have not yet said whether the contractor or any other person will also face action. The probe is still going on.

Construction Site Safety Under Fresh Scrutiny

The Gurugram dumper accident has once again raised concerns about safety at construction sites. Experts say dumper unloading needs strict supervision. Workers must stay clear of the danger zone. Clear communication is also important to avoid such accidents. Authorities will now check whether these safety steps were followed at the site. They will also decide if more action is needed. Police said the investigation is ongoing. More details will come after all evidence is examined.

Conclusion

The Gurugram dumper accident has left Priyanshu Maurya’s family devastated. What should have been a routine unloading job ended in tragedy. The case has also renewed calls for stricter safety rules at construction sites. The investigation will decide whether anyone else should be held responsible beyond the driver already booked in the case.
