Delhi High Court bomb threat triggered a major security alert in the national capital on Friday, August 14. The incident came just a day before India’s Independence Day celebrations.

The High Court received a bomb-threat email, prompting security agencies to immediately inspect the premises. Police and bomb-disposal teams carried out detailed searches across the court complex.

Delhi High Court Receives Bomb Threat

After completing the checks, officials found no explosives or suspicious objects. The threat was later declared a hoax.

The threat email reportedly arrived at around 11:43 am on Friday. It mentioned the Red Fort and raised concerns because of the heightened security across Delhi ahead of August 15.

Security teams quickly followed standard safety procedures. The court premises were thoroughly checked to ensure there was no immediate danger.

The incident caused a security scare, but authorities later confirmed that no explosive device was found.

IGI Airport And Government Offices Also Targeted

The Delhi High Court was not the only location named in the threats.

Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport and three government offices also received bomb-threat emails on Friday. Security teams conducted checks at the affected locations. No explosives were found.

The multiple threats came at a sensitive time. Delhi was already under heightened security because of Independence Day celebrations.

Investigation Underway

Although the threats turned out to be hoaxes, police have started an investigation to identify the sender.

Authorities are examining the threatening emails and their origins. The investigation will determine whether the messages were connected or sent as part of a wider attempt to create panic.

Security agencies have also increased vigilance across important locations in the capital.

The incident highlights the heightened security environment in Delhi during the Independence Day period. Officials have urged people to remain alert and follow security instructions.
