Nandan Yadav Shot by Bihar Police in Jamui Encounter, Main Accused Arrested

Jamui, Bihar: Nandan Yadav, the main accused in the Jamui molestation case, was shot in the leg during a police encounter on Tuesday, September 22. Bihar Police later arrested him and took him to a hospital for treatment.

According to police, a team was conducting an operation to arrest Nandan Yadav and another accused. Police said the suspects opened fire when the team approached them. The officers then retaliated, and Yadav suffered a bullet injury in his leg.

Police took Yadav into custody after the encounter. He was then shifted to a hospital for treatment. Officials said the investigation into the case is still underway.

Jamui Case Involves Two Class 10 Students

The case came to light after a video of two Class 10 students went viral on social media. The students were allegedly stopped and assaulted by a group of men while returning from coaching classes.

Police registered a case under the POCSO Act after the incident. An SIT was also formed to identify and arrest the accused. Police have so far arrested five people in connection with the case, while efforts are continuing to trace the remaining accused.

The police action came after the video sparked widespread attention across Bihar. Authorities are now investigating the full sequence of events, including the circumstances surrounding the encounter.
