India reclaimed the continental crown with a dominant 72-run victory over Sri Lanka in the India vs Sri Lanka Women’s Asia Cup Final 2026 in Dubai. Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana powered India to 183/5 before the bowlers dismissed defending champions Sri Lanka for 111.
Shafali and Smriti dominate Sri Lanka
India’s openers laid the foundation with a huge 129-run partnership. Shafali attacked from the start and smashed 68 off 39 balls, while Mandhana scored a composed 59 off 39 deliveries.
Shafali reached her half-century in just 24 balls, registering the fastest fifty in Women’s T20 Asia Cup history. Their partnership put India firmly in control before Sri Lanka managed to slow the scoring rate in the closing overs.
India eventually finished with a challenging 183/5.
Shree Charani destroys Sri Lanka chase
Sri Lanka needed a strong start to chase 184, but India’s bowling attack kept taking wickets at regular intervals.
Left-arm spinner Shree Charani was the standout performer with 4/20, helping India bowl Sri Lanka out for 111. The 72-run victory completed an unbeaten campaign for Harmanpreet Kaur’s team.
The triumph also gave India their eighth Women’s Asia Cup title, extending their record as the tournament’s most successful side. It was also revenge for the 2024 final, when Sri Lanka had defeated India to claim their maiden title.
The India vs Sri Lanka Women’s Asia Cup Final ultimately belonged to India, with Shafali, Mandhana and Charani producing decisive performances on the biggest night.
