Supreme Court Quashes FIRs Against NEET Protesters Across India

BH24 Breaking News

The Supreme Court has quashed FIRs against NEET protesters across India. The decision gives major relief to students who joined protests over the NEET-UG paper leak controversy. The court used its special powers under Article 142 of the Constitution. The order covers FIRs filed against protesters between July 20 and July 25.

NEET Protesters Get Major Relief

Students had protested against the NEET paper leak issue in Delhi and several states. Some protesters later faced FIRs. The Supreme Court has now ordered these cases to be closed. The court said such cases should not harm the future of young students. However, the relief does not cover people accused of serious crimes. Authorities can still take action against those linked to violence or other criminal activities.

September 5 Protest Called Off

The ruling has also affected the planned protest in Delhi. A protest march scheduled for September 5 has been called off after the Supreme Court’s decision. The order comes as major relief for students who faced FIRs after joining the NEET protests. The NEET controversy had sparked protests across the country, with students demanding action over the paper leak. The latest order allows many protesters to move forward without these FIRs affecting their future.
