Delhi CNG Price Hike: CNG Rises by ₹3.89, New Rate ₹86.98 Per Kg

The Delhi CNG price hike has come into effect from Saturday, August 29. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price of CNG by ₹3.89 per kg in Delhi. The new CNG price is now ₹86.98 per kg, compared with the earlier rate of ₹83.09. The revised price came into effect from 6 AM on August 29. The increase will affect thousands of commuters and commercial vehicle drivers across Delhi-NCR.
Delhi CNG Price Hike: Why Has CNG Become Costlier?
IGL said the latest hike is linked to higher international LNG prices. Delhi gets part of its gas supply through imported spot LNG. Rising global energy costs have increased the cost of supplying CNG. The situation has also been affected by the ongoing crisis in West Asia. Higher fuel costs are now putting additional pressure on CNG prices.
This is not the first CNG price increase this year. Delhi-NCR has already seen several price revisions in 2026. The latest hike adds another ₹3.89 to the cost of every kilogram of CNG. For people who use CNG vehicles every day, even a small increase can raise their monthly travel expenses.
New CNG Prices Across Delhi-NCR
The price has also increased in other parts of the National Capital Region. CNG now costs ₹95.59 per kg in Noida and Ghaziabad. In Meerut, the revised rate is ₹95.47 per kg. Gurugram will now have CNG at ₹92.01 per kg.
The hike is expected to affect auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators, buses and private CNG vehicle owners. Commercial drivers may face higher daily running costs. If these costs continue to rise, passengers could also see higher fares in the future.
Despite the increase, IGL has said CNG remains an economical fuel option compared with several other fuels. However, the latest revision is likely to add pressure to the budgets of regular commuters and commercial vehicle operators across Delhi-NCR.
