Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s planned visit to the United States has been cancelled after the Centre denied political clearance for the trip.

Why Was Revanth Reddy’s US Visit Cancelled?
The Ministry of External Affairs said the proposed programme did not meet the required norms for a Chief Minister’s foreign visit.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the programme was “not appropriate” for the office held by Revanth Reddy. However, the ministry did not provide details about which parts of the proposed schedule raised concerns.
The Telangana government had sought clearance for Revanth Reddy’s planned visit to the US as part of the state’s Telangana Rising initiative.
UK Visit Gets Clearance
The Centre approved Revanth Reddy’s proposed UK visit but did not approve the US leg of his tour.
The Chief Minister was scheduled to travel to the US for meetings linked to education, investment and international partnerships.
Following the denial, Revanth Reddy will return to Hyderabad instead of travelling to America.
Telangana Delegation Will Continue US Programme
Despite the cancellation, the Telangana delegation is expected to continue with several planned engagements in the United States.
The proposed programme included meetings with educational institutions and discussions on bringing global institutions to Telangana.
The state government has been promoting Hyderabad as a major global hub for education, technology and investment.

The decision has opened another political front between the Congress-led Telangana government and the Centre.
