The ship, MSV Faize Noore Oliya, was sailing near Yemen when the projectile struck it. Flames quickly spread across the vessel. Videos released after the incident showed thick black smoke rising from the burning ship before it disappeared into the sea.
Officials have not publicly identified who launched the projectile. However, the attack has raised fresh concerns about the safety of commercial ships passing through the Red Sea.
India Condemns the Attack
The Indian government strongly condemned the attack. Officials described it as an unacceptable strike on a civilian vessel. They also said the safety of Indian seafarers remains a top priority.
