New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Ashutosh Ranka has once again demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. His statement came after his release from detention in Delhi.

Ranka said he was ready to spend his entire life in jail to continue his protest against the election chief.

Ashutosh Ranka Demands Resignation

On Sunday, Ranka shared a post in Hindi on X. He accused Gyanesh Kumar of betraying public trust and said his resignation was necessary.

His statement came after an executive magistrate ordered the release of three CJP leaders. They included Ashutosh Ranka, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and Saurav Das.

Delhi Police had detained them on Saturday at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The leaders had arrived in Delhi from Mumbai.

CJP Protest Against SIR Continues

The detentions came ahead of CJP’s planned “Jantar Mantar 2.0” protest in Delhi.

CJP has been demanding Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. The group also wants the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to be withdrawn.

According to CJP, the voter list revision process involves several irregularities.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police denied permission for the protest. Officials cited security concerns, possible law-and-order problems and inconvenience to residents.

The Times of India reported that police detained more than 7,000 people across Delhi during the security crackdown.

Despite these actions, CJP leaders say they will continue their campaign for electoral transparency and accountability.

The dispute over SIR and the proposed Delhi protests remains unresolved.
