New Delhi: In a major relief for businesses across the country, oil marketing companies have reduced the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by up to ₹209, effective from August 1, 2026. The latest price revision is expected to benefit restaurants, hotels, caterers, tea stalls, bakeries, and several other commercial establishments that depend on LPG for their daily operations.
However, there is no change in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder used by households. Domestic consumers will continue to pay the existing rates.
Commercial LPG Prices Reduced Across Major Cities
Under the latest revision, commercial LPG cylinder prices have been reduced in several major cities. The price has been cut by around ₹202 in Delhi and ₹209 in Kolkata, while similar reductions have also been announced in Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Patna, and other cities.
Commercial LPG prices are revised on the first day of every month based on international fuel prices and domestic market conditions.
Who Will Benefit?
The latest price cut is expected to provide financial relief to businesses that use commercial LPG regularly, including:
- Restaurants and hotels
- Street food vendors
- Catering services
- Bakeries and sweet shops
- Small commercial establishments
Although the reduction may not immediately lower food prices for customers, it is likely to reduce operating costs for businesses.
Why Has the Price Been Reduced?
According to industry experts, the reduction comes after changes in international energy prices and is part of the monthly LPG price revision carried out by oil marketing companies. This is also the second consecutive monthly reduction in commercial LPG cylinder prices, offering continued relief to commercial users.
No Relief for Domestic Consumers
While commercial users have received a price cut, the rates of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged. Households across the country will continue to purchase cooking gas at the existing prices until the next revision.
The latest announcement is expected to ease the burden on commercial establishments, especially small businesses, as they continue to deal with rising operational expenses.
